The Jim Morris Legacy Cup stands as Canada’s longest-running, most prestigious bodybuilding competition, celebrating 38 years of dedication, passion, and athletic excellence. This incredible milestone was made possible by the vision and determination of two legends:
Jim Morris and Norm Jacobs.
Together, Jim and Norm built a legacy that began with three highly successful contests under Jamor Enterprises: the Stratford Championships, the London Championships, and the Ontario Provincials. These events quickly became favourites among athletes across Ontario, drawn by Jim and Norm’s infectious enthusiasm and their commitment to creating an unforgettable experience for every competitor.
Since the passing of Jim and Norm, Darrell Jackson has stepped up to continue the legacy with a vision that honours their dedication to the sport and the athletes. This is not only a competition, but a celebration of the history and two great men, and a promise to carry forward the values that they instilled in every event.
In 2018, the event made history by introducing Canada’s first wheelchair bodybuilding division. Inspired by the dedication of guest athletes Bray Hoffman and Woody Belfort in 2017, Jackson collaborated with CPA President Ron Hache to create an official division. This groundbreaking step opened the door for Canadian wheelchair athletes to compete nationally and eventually pursue pro status, following the strong example set in the U.S., where the division had been growing since 1993. This milestone marked the beginning of a new era for inclusive bodybuilding in Canada, paving the way for greater awareness, participation, and future opportunities for athletes with disabilities.
In 2026, we proudly host the 38th installment of the Jim Morris Legacy Cup once again in Kitchener, Ontario. This location offers increased accessibility and flexibility, allowing us to welcome even more athletes and fans. We look forward to working alongside the Canadian Physique Alliance and our exceptional show vendors to deliver an unforgettable experience for our athletes, spectators and sponsors.
